The Department of the Interior announced it will pay roughly $900 million combined to terminate two offshore wind leases – Bluepoint Wind off New Jersey and Golden State Wind off California – contingent on the developers redirecting investment away from offshore wind. The move adds to a string of federal actions slowing offshore wind development off the New Jersey coast.
